Operation Christmas Child

Ways you can help with Operation Christmas Child:

1) Pray

  • For the logistics of getting all of the shoebox gifts to all of the different countries and their distribution centers...that customs would favor the boxes

  • For each one presenting the gospel to the recipients

  • For each child, family, community to hear the gospel and accept the 'greatest gift of all' - Jesus Christ as their savior

  • How God wants you to participate

2) You can pack a box (or more) as a gift from your family (Bring box to Vision on Nov 11)

  • Pray to decide what gender and age you are packing for and as you select items (listen to what God asks you to pack - he has a specific child in mind for your box and knows exactly what each child needs)Pick up a box from church, or use a tennis shoe box, or a plastic shoeboxCheck out the brochure at the OCC table for things to include or not to include

  • Include: hygiene items, school supplies, toys, an item that makes a child say WOW! when they see it, a picture of your family, a letter to the child, $9 for shipping and to help offset costs of printing the gospel in the child's own language!

Please do NOT include: food, candy, breakables, liquids, war/camo items, seeds, OTC medicines, toothpaste, items with expiration dates (these items could either ruin a shoebox or carton of boxes if broken OR get a whole shipment banned at customs)

3) Donate Items for Vision's Packing Party - see sign up list at OCC table

4) Attend Vision's Packing Party on Nov 11 at 3pm - All are welcomed, parents please help by supervising your little ones...

5) Sign Up to serve at Charlotte Processing Center on Nov 23 from 5-10pm

  • You must be at least 13 years old to serve. If 13-18, you must have parent to accompany you. You will receive an email from OCC with waiver to be completed before the event. The Processing Center is in a warehouse, so dress in layers with closed toe shoes. You may bring your own supper or in the past they have had pizza or Chick-fil-a available for purchase. There are also vending machines with snack and drinks (bring quarters).

No matter how you decide to serve.....thank you for being a part of sharing God's love to these children, their families and communities and most of all sharing "the greatest gift of all'- Jesus!
